This dataset contains results for module A1, A2 and A3 according to DIN EN 15804.
A comparison or evaluation of EPD data is only possible if all the datasets are created to be compared to EN 15804 and the product-specific features are considered.5131 kgThe data set represents the Brillux specific situation, focusing on the main technologies and the legislative boundary conditions. In this Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) the primers and facade paints products "Grundierungen 3710" and "Grundierungen 3644" of the company Brillux GmbH & Co. KG are described. According to DIN EN 1062 these products are facade-paints products and bonding agents with organic binders factory-made, liquid mixtures of one or more hydraulic polymer dispersions, which can be partly combined with binders based on silicone or silicate-based, mineral fillers, pigments, water and additives. The consolidation takes place by drying and filming the polymer binder.
The LCA results include the life cycle stages of the production of primary products, mining, processing operations and input secondary materials (eg recycling processes), their transport to the factory and the production itself, including the provision of all supplies and materials, energy, and the complete waste treatment or landfilling of residual waste during the production stage. The modules A1, A2 and A3 are shown here as an aggregate module A1-A3. If these data were calculated for other modules, you will find them separately and for a consideration of the entire life cycle can be merged.
The declaration refers to the functional unit of 1 kg of each primer and facade paints. The results are an average of the products "Grundierungen 3710" and "Grundierungen 3644".Tap water from groundwaterElectricity grid mixEnergy creditProcess steam from natural gas 90%Municipal waste water treatment (sludge incineration)Waste incineration (municipal waste)The primers and facade paints are applied as coatings and bonding agent for mineral and organic substrates as well as on wood and metal surfaces for outdoor use. A direct contact with groundwater is not envisaged. The application can be made by brush, roller or spray.EPD_ primers and facade paints,Grundierungen 3710 and 3644_Brillux .jpgLCI resultAttributionalnoneAllocation - net calorific valueAllocation - massFOREGROUND system:
In Brillux allocation only for the production stage was considered, including credits from the energy recovery of production waste. There have been no co-product allocation rules applied because no co-product from tha production of primer and facade paint has arised.
BACKGROUND system:
Production waste is burned into an incinerator. According to their elemental composition and the calorific value, credits for energy recovery (including the emissions that occur) have been considered.
Credits arising due to the electrical and thermal energy substitution are credited directly to the production stage. This is possible because the credited amount is not greater than the energy input required for the energy supply in the production stage and the manufacturing of primary products (thermal energy for the production of primary products, for example vinyl chloride ethylene copolymer, methyl cellulose, etc.).noneAll the flows, which contribute more than 1% to the total mass, energy or environmental impacts of the system were included in the study.
All the data obtained from the data collection operation for the inputs and outputs have been considered, for example all raw materials used according to their composition, power consumption and all direct manufacturing waste and wastewater. The modeling of transport is based on primary data of the manufacturer.noneFor the modelling of the production stage of theprimers and facade paints sompositions the GaBi 5 Software System for Life Cycle Engineering, developed by thinkstep AG, is used. All relevant background datasets are taken from the GaBi 5 software database. The average environmental burdens of the national power grid mix in the production countries are used in the model. To ensure comparability of results in the LCA, the basic data of the GaBi database were used for energy, transportation and auxiliary materials. All data used are less than 5 years old.noneThe database used for this model is based on data recordings from the year 2010. The quantities of raw materials, energy and auxiliary materials and supplies are considered as an average value by taking into account the respective production sites.noneGaBi databasesCassava Starch Production100.0This dataset contains results for the aggregated modules A1, A2 and A3 (A1-A3) according to DIN EN 15804.No statementCML2001 - Apr. 2013, Freshwater Aquatic Ecotoxicity Pot.
